Nestled in the heart of Union City, Tribu Grill stands out as a genuine Filipino restaurant that delivers a rich culinary experience rooted deeply in traditional flavors. From the moment you step inside at 32208 Dyer St, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that embodies the vibrant essence of Filipino hospitality.
Tribu Grill’s menu is a treasure trove of classic Filipino dishes that promise to delight every palate. Their Lechon Kawali—crispy, cubed pork belly—is a crispy, savory indulgence that perfectly balances crunchy exterior with tender meat inside. Fans of pork will be equally captivated by the Adobo Glazed Pork Belly, an iconic Filipino staple glazed to silky perfection, or the Crispy Dinuguan, a rich pork blood stew topped with chicharron bulaklak that offers an adventurous yet comforting bite.
Seafood lovers cannot miss the Grilled Milkfish Bangus, a beautifully charred fish that captures the ocean’s subtle depth. Meanwhile, the Binagoongan Fried Rice, imbued with robust shrimp paste flavor and bits of pork, offers the perfect hearty accompaniment to any main dish. Their Halo-Halo, a dessert offering chilled, colorful layers of sweet beans, jelly, and shaved ice topped with creamy flan, provides a refreshing and playful end to your meal.
The menu further embraces regional flavors with spicy delights like Bicol Express, a luscious pork stewed in coconut milk with a kick of heat. The savory Beef Nilaga and Nilagang Oxtail Soup add comforting warmth reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Noodle lovers will appreciate the Pancit Bihon and Palabok, each dish prepared with fresh ingredients and balanced sauces that reveal the rich tradition behind Filipino noodles.
Dining at Tribu Grill goes beyond the food—it's about community and connection. Customers consistently praise the service as friendly and knowledgeable, helping navigate the menu with ease and care. As Sheila Zarekari reflects, the authenticity truly shines through; this is Filipino cooking uncompromised by fusion trends, served in generous portions that ensure you leave satisfied.
Visitors note that, while the staff's lively chatter can raise the noise level, it also reflects the genuine camaraderie and energy that fills the space, making each visit feel lively and heartfelt. For those who enjoy a bit of local entertainment, Tribu Grill’s Friday night karaoke sessions offer an additional layer of fun and cultural immersion.
Comparisons have been made favorably with well-known chains, with first-time guests like May Dizon remarking that Tribu Grill surpasses expectations both in taste and atmosphere. With reasonable pricing and prompt service, this restaurant stands as a beacon for both longtime fans of Filipino cuisine and curious newcomers.
If you're craving an authentic taste of the Philippines, paired with a welcoming ambiance and attentive staff, Tribu Grill is a destination that invites you to savor every bite and enjoy a true Filipino dining experience.
The food was good. Am happy it was authentic Filipino food not fusion. Serving size is also good. We had a late lunch and the staff still graciously welcomed us. If ever, the only thing noticeable that could be better is the noise level. Staff was loud, trying to talk to each other from different ends of the space.
Co. worker claimed that I wouldn't be disappointed if I trued this place out. So I did. The food was actually good. My server was kind and informative. She helped me navigate the menu choices. Her suggestion for a dish was spot on. I truly wnjoyed my meal.
It's been several years since my family and I have eaten @ Tribu. Not because of the food or service but we no longer live in the area. I was really surprised about the negative reviews because we always had a positive experience prior to us moving. We thought the cooks are new or new management. Anyway, we took a chance and decided to take the drive here. To be honest, my wife was craving Tribu ice tea! It's the only reason we made the trip today! Its not on the menu so you have to ask for it by name. We were seated right away since we were the 1st customers to arrive at 1130 am during week. We ordered the 2 rice plates with bbq pork and lechon kawalli. Also, beef nilaga and the entree of pork bbq. Everything was delicious. The pork was tender and grilled perfectly. The nilaga broth was so flavorful with a good ratio of oxtail to veggies. I'm glad we took a chance to try eating here again and i brought up the issue about the past negative reviews to our server and he took it to heart. He told me, they read the reviews. He mentioned they have new cooks so im hoping those who had terrible experiences in the past try them again. Being Filipino and proud of our culture and food. I applaud the businesses who promotes the food of the Philippines. Filipino food does not get the notoriety that it should receive! So what are you waiting for? Kain Tayo! (Lets eat)
Great experience. Food is an absolute steal with the quality, price and portion. Restrooms in the rear, 2 stalls per gender. Karaoke on Friday evenings. Highly recommend and hope to bring more people to enjoy this place.
It’s our first time to eat here. Compared to Gerry’s grill , Tribu is better based on the food, service, price and atmosphere. Food is actually better than i expected, very delicious and tasty! The portion is large size and price was reasonable! The atmosphere is very welcoming and clean. The staff is very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable of the menu. Service is prompt and timely. Definitely will come back here and recommend to others who craves or wants to try Filipino Food.
We went here on Saturday afternoon around 1pm. When we entered the restaurant, no one greeted us - seemed like they all were on a break. After waiting for 5 minutes, someone finally seated us. We ordered Silog with bangus (milk fish) and Rice plate of chicken inasal. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes after we ordered. For the price & portion of each dish, it was worth it. Chicken inasal rice plate: they gave 2 pieces of chicken thigh with garlic rice. Although the chicken was tender, it was bland - could be marinated a bit more. I wish they fried the chicken a tad longer so the skin could be crispier. Silog with bangus: was delicious! The fish were crispy! However, maybe I got a skiny fish so I didn't get a lot of meat. The tomato & onion pickle was tasty too. Overall, the portion was good relative to the price (below $10!). Will try their other menu when we're in the area.
